The About the Author block adds a profile section that introduces the person behind your content. Select an author and the block pulls everything from their profile automatically — photo, name, title, and biography. Update the profile once, and every block featuring that author stays in sync.
It's designed to build trust and give your content a human face — a natural fit at the end of a blog post, review, or guide where the author's expertise adds weight. Four toggles let you show or hide the profile picture, name, title, and a "more by this author" link, so you can go from a full profile to a clean name-and-bio.
It also stays tidy on its own: if an author has no photo, it falls back to your site's default image, and the block only appears when the author actually has a biography — no empty boxes.
FAQs
Where does the author information come from?
Everything is pulled from the selected author's profile — photo, name, title, and biography. Update the author once and every block using them updates automatically.
Can I show just the biography and hide the rest?
Yes. Use the display toggles to turn off the profile picture, name, title, or "more by" link individually, and show only the pieces you want.
Why isn't my block showing up?
The block only appears when the selected author has a biography filled in. Add a bio to their profile and it will render.
What if the author has no profile picture?
It falls back to the default profile picture from your site settings, so the section still looks complete.
