Origin App: Your Site
Origin App is an individual Origin site — the place where you build and publish everything visitors see. It's where pages and posts are created, where content is arranged into blocks, and where shared operator data is pulled in and presented. If Origin Admin is the central foundation, Origin App is where that foundation becomes a real, published website.
Most editorial work lives here. Writing pages, laying out blocks, setting SEO details, and deciding what goes live all happen on the site itself — not in the central hub. Each site is its own Origin App.
What Origin App does for you
- Create pages and posts. Build the content visitors read, from landing pages to articles.
- Arrange content in blocks. Pages are assembled from reusable blocks — text, callouts, FAQs, operator and game displays, and more — so you compose a page rather than code it.
- Show operator data. Operators maintained centrally are displayed on your pages; you pull them in rather than re-typing their details.
- Control SEO. Set each page's title, meta description, and slug so it reads well and ranks well.
- Manage drafts and publishing. Work in draft, preview, and publish when ready.
Drafts, previews, and going live
Content doesn't go live the moment you type it. You work on a draft, review it, and then publish when it's ready. This gives you a safe space to prepare content without affecting the live site.
Keep in mind that publishing content and a site change being fully deployed can be separate steps — if something you published isn't showing as expected, see "Deployment & Access" for how changes reach the live site.
Working with operator data
Operators come from Origin Admin and flow into your site automatically or through a review step, depending on how your site is set up. On the site you can:
- Display operators on pages using operator blocks.
- Override specific fields when you need an operator's details to differ on your site, without cutting it off from future updates.
- Review pending updates if your site is in review mode, applying or dismissing incoming changes.
For the full picture of how updates travel and how overrides behave, see "How Operator Data Works."
Access and roles
Origin App uses five content roles, from most to least access — Super Admin, Admin, Editor, Writer, Member — where higher roles include everything below them. The key distinction for everyday work is between Editor (can create, edit, and publish) and Writer (can create and edit, but not publish). New users default to Writer.
This is separate from access in Origin Admin, so your role on the site may differ from your access to the central hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Where do I edit my site's pages?
Right here in Origin App. Central data (like operators) is managed in Origin Admin, but pages, posts, and layout are all edited on the site.
- I finished a page — why isn't it public?
Check that it's published rather than left as a draft. If it's published and still not live as expected, the change may still be deploying — see "Deployment & Access."
- Can I change an operator's details just for my site?
Yes — override the specific fields you need. Everything else keeps syncing from central data. See "How Operator Data Works" for the trade-offs.
- Why can I edit content but not publish it?
That's the Writer role, which can create and edit but not publish. Publishing requires Editor or higher — ask an administrator if you need it.
