Getting Started: How Origin Fits Together
Origin runs your casino sites and keeps their shared data consistent. This page explains the moving parts in plain terms — what Origin is, where different kinds of changes live, and who can do what — so you know where to go before you start editing.
The one thing to remember
Origin has two halves. A central hub (Origin Admin) holds shared data like operators, and your individual site is where you build and edit pages. Knowing which half a change belongs to saves most of the confusion.
Origin Admin (the central hub)
The shared source of truth across all sites. It holds master records — most importantly operators — and pushes updates out to the sites that use them.
- Master operator data
- Changes that should reach many sites
- Managed centrally, not per site
Your site (where you publish)
Where you create and edit the pages visitors see. You pull in shared data and arrange it into content.
- Pages, posts, and layout
- Local tweaks and overrides
- What actually goes live to visitors
Roles & access at a glance
Access in Origin is tied to what your job needs, not to technical settings. Your role decides which areas and actions you can see — if a button or section is hidden, it usually means your role doesn't include it. Ask an administrator to adjust your access rather than assuming something is broken.
The site content system uses five roles, from most to least access:
- Super Admin — Full access, including technical and system-level operations.
- Admin — Broad permissions, including managing users.
- Editor — Can create, edit, and publish content.
- Writer — Can create and edit content, but not publish it. (This is the default for new users.)
- Member — Basic access, no admin functionality.
Higher roles include everything the roles below them can do. The separate deployment/provisioning tools (Origin Admin) use their own simpler two-level access — Admin and User — so your role there may differ from your role on the site.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Where do I change an operator's details?
Operator data is managed centrally in Origin Admin and flows out to your site. See "How Operator Data Works" for how updates reach you and how local overrides fit in.
- Why can't I see a certain section or button?
It's almost always your role. Access is scoped to your job function; an administrator can grant more if you need it.
- I edited something — why isn't it live?
Publishing and deployment are separate steps. See "Deployment & Access" for how a change goes live and the typical timing.
